PVT Reactor for Growth of Organic Single Crystals

The growth of single crystals by physical vapor transport (PVT) occurs in a laminar flow of He (2-5 sccm) in a modest temperature gradient. The growth quartz tube (20 mm inner diameter) heated up to 250-330°C is placed in a copper heat-stabilizing tube (100°C). The reactor is equipped with flow and temperature controllers and a precision voltage source (Keithley 2200), which is controlled by a computer.

High vacuum sublimation purification system for organic semiconductors

A high-vacuum sublimation purification apparatus for organic semiconductors is based on the PVT reactor. The spatial separation of the original material into fractions occurs at low pressure along a smooth temperature gradient. High vacuum (up to 3×10-7mbar) is achieved using a turbomolecular pump, and a smooth temperature gradient – using two independent heating cords (in the sublimation area and in the deposition area), which provides fine tuning of suitable conditions for a wide range of materials (M<1000).
